Five Minute Drill - What Are You Capable Of?
When I was teaching I used give my students what I called the 5 minute Drill. No matter the discipline I used this technique to draw out the creativity in them. By starting off the class with this I "hopefully" prepared them to use their creative muscles for problem solving. So since I have 5 minutes until my hamburgers are done here is my 5 minute drill.
I would constantly tell her that there is nothing that she cannot do. This way when I share with her the real work that she is called to do than there won't be any reason for her to back down. What is this real work you ask. You'll find it in Matthew 28. Let me share it with you.

"Never tell a young person that anything cannot be done. God may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that very thing." ~ John Andrew HolmesI made a habit with my oldest daughter was small to tell her that she is capable of anything. That there is nothing that she cannot do. I caught a lot of flack for that because it made her into a bit of a daredevil. She is a super climber and a fierce jumper. When she was just learning to walk she would climb onto the couch and then walk across to the coffee table and then onto my chair. I would watch her try to balance on the edge of things and paray that she wouldn't fall. Some friends would scold her and say, "You can't do that. You are to small to jump that far. Stop you'll hurt yourself." I would tell her to try it anyway. Sometimes she would make it and I would cheer. Other times she would fall and I would hold her as she cried.
I would constantly tell her that there is nothing that she cannot do. This way when I share with her the real work that she is called to do than there won't be any reason for her to back down. What is this real work you ask. You'll find it in Matthew 28. Let me share it with you.
"Meanwhile, the eleven disciples were on their way to Galilee, headed for the mountain Jesus had set for their reunion. The moment they saw him they worshiped him. Some, though, held back, not sure about worship, about risking themselves totally.
Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: "God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I'll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age. - Matthew 28:16-20 Message"
