God's Man | Two Thoughts For Tuesday...

Here are two snippets from 2 more of my blogging mentors who don't know it.  Number 1 is taken from @theantijared at http://theantijared.com entitled Struggling is not Quitting:
No matter how successful you are, you will struggle. It is different for everyone. Some people beat themselves up for three hours for 12 minutes of eating. Some people beat themselves up for not going to the gym. Some people think they can only have one bite, but get fooled every time.
 
The one piece of advice I can give is do not quit. Whatever your goal is, do not quit. When you are at a plateau, remember the times when it was worse. When you are confused what the scale says, look at the decisions you made. When someone makes a snide remark to you, know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
 
You are not alone. Everyone struggles. All of the great paper tigers can tell you they do not. They can have beautiful pictures of themselves, but it is part of this journey. It is one of the most important parts in my eyes.
Number 2 comes from the Manhood AP Series by @EPayneTheDad from Makes Me Wanna Holler.  It is titled No Plan B.
There is no Plan B. Plan To Be successful. By having a Plan B you simply rob yourself of your potential. If you've got kids, then you'll just have to plan to be even more successful. In the end, if it doesn't work out at least you know you tried. And another door will open for you that you will no to go through.
We have got to put in the work in order to reach the goal.  As he was writing to Timothy Paul shared this:
In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
 
But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
 
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. - 1 Timothy 4:1-8
What are you doing today?  Are you leaving it all on the field?  Are you holding some of it back?  When you lay your head down tonight will you be satisfied that you did all you can?

God's Man | Portrait of a Godly Man

Christian Women the world over have looked to Proverbs 31 as a model for Godly Women.   That has always left me with this question.   What is a Godly Man?   In the book of Job we find a man that God called blameless.   During his lament in chapter 29 Job paints a picture of a Godly Man.   It gives us things to focus on as we strive to be men of God.   A Godly Man needs God’s Provision     Job continued his discourse: "How I long for the months gone by, for the days when God watched over me, when his lamp shone upon my head and by his light I walked through darkness!   Oh, for the days when I was in my prime, when God's intimate friendship blessed my house, when the Almighty was still with me and my children were around me, when my path was drenched with cream and the rock poured out for me streams   of olive oil.   – Job 29 1:-6   Even though Job is in the middle of a bitter lament he knows that his entire life was built on the provision of God.   He know
