Mental Fog...
When my daughter walked into the room where the parents were sitting she was all smiles. Then once she saw "daddy" she began to pull for me and cried. I was embarrassed because she was the only shield that did that. One of her teachers picked her up and they went onstage and did fine. As I was reflecting on this later I thought about how this was a perfect illustration of how our relationship with God should be. My daughter wants to be around me all the time. If I am in the house she wants to be where I am. She love mommy, she love grandpa, grandma, and nana, but Daddy is Daddy.
God doesn't mind that we love others. He doesn't mind that we have passions and desires. What Father doesn't want their children to be happy.
"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! -Matthew 7:9-11
God only asks that we love Him First and Most. He wants us to desire His presence. He loves when we seek after Him. God love David because he always wanted to be near God. Ask God today to show you where you have been neglecting your relationship with Him. Seriously consider cutting out some activities so that you time with God is paramount.
I needed this today more than anyone else. Thank God for His Grace and Forgiveness. Empower your children today, my Father, to seek you first, last, and always.
