Loss of Opportunity...

The Main Thought that came through my message is:

When the storm comes… Respond don’t React.

Job Shows Us how to handle loss. These are the types of loss that he experienced as told through the interview that we shared.

He said, “I’m not sure how much of my story you know but I once thought I had it all. At one time I was on top of the world. I loved God and He loved me. My family and marriage were great. My business was thriving and friends were always coming to me for counsel. Life could not have been sweeter.”

His facial expression changed and I stammered out, “then what?”

He said, “There are going to be storms in your life son. There is nothing you can do to change that. However you can control how you let the storm affect you . I had everything and then I lost it, but that is ok, because everyone experiences loss. However there are some things that cannot be lost. And that is where your strength comes from. That’s where I found the strength to make it through. My losses came in three forms:

Loss of Opportunity
“One minute I was sitting on one of the largest fortunes in my world and than it was all gone.”

I asked, “So what should we do when we lose our opportunities?

He replied with a smile, “Easy answer. Praise God, Talk to Him, and Ask what now?”

“But that’s hard,” I said, “I mean how do you praise when you’ve lost your lively hood?”

“You open your mouth and tell God exactly what is going on. Let Him know all of it. Pour it all out to Him. Remind yourself that He loves you. Remind yourself that he will restore you. He will always be there for you. Then ask Him what do I do now? The great thing about God is that He will answer. Just be ready for His answer. It sometimes comes in an unexpected way.”

“So remember His promises?”

“Exactly”
(Zephaniah 2:7) “It will belong to the remnant of the house of Judah; there they will find pasture. In the evening they will lie down in the houses of Ashkelon. The LORD their God will care for them; he will restore their fortunes."
(Deuteronomy 2:7) The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast desert. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.
(John 14:1-4 MSG) "Don't let this throw you. You trust God, don't you? Trust me. There is plenty of room for you in my Father's home. If that weren't so, would I have told you that I'm on my way to get a room ready for you? And if I'm on my way to get your room ready, I'll come back and get you so you can live where I live. And you already know the road I'm taking."
(more to come)
