“ Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. ”- Ephesians 4:29
What does unwholesome talk mean? The dictionary definition of unwholesome is something that is "detrimental to physical or moral well-being". So we are talking about something that is damaging to both the body and the mind. We must be very careful about what comes out of our mouths because what comes out of us is a direct reflection of what is in us.
In Mark 7:15 it reads "Nothing outside a man can make him 'unclean' by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him 'unclean.' " The seeds that we plant in our minds will bear fruit in our words and our actions. If we plant good seed in the fertile foundation of Christ than we will build up not only ourselves but also those whom we come in contact with.
Ask God to search your heart today. Let him remove the unwholesome talk that runs through our minds.
