Prosper 16
“Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.”
Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth. See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”” - Jeremiah 1:4–10 ESV
God has created you, built you with a purpose and wants you to achieve that purpose. On top of that He comes along with you, is near to you, making sure you are never alone on the journey. When the moments come he gives you the words, the actions, needed.
“O Lord my God, in you do I take refuge; save me from all my pursuers and deliver me, lest like a lion they tear my soul apart, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.
O Lord my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands, if I have repaid my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause, let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it, and let him trample my life to the ground and lay my glory in the dust. Selah
Arise, O Lord, in your anger; lift yourself up against the fury of my enemies; awake for me; you have appointed a judgment.” - Psalms 7:1–6 ESV
God sees from a vantage point that we cannot reach. That means that we should relie on his perspective. Here the psalmist asks God to protect him, he also asks that God search him to see if he has done what his accusers have said. He recognizes that God will no abide a sinful man. He knows that God will turn him over for judgement. However, if there is no judgement against him, the psalmist seeks justice from the Lord
”Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” - Hebrews 12:28–29 ESV
Because our God is a God of justice, power and faithfulness we ahould be a people of worship, people full of reverence to an awesome God.
“Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it?
And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.” - Luke 13:15–17 ESV
He will shame your adversaries and silence the scoffers. We need to seek him for all that we need.
